2023 New England finals

January 29— Excitement at the conclusion of the Region Finals at Jordan Hall, as Hyungjin Son, baritone, is announced as the First Place winner of the 2023 New England MetOpera Laffont Competition. Also awarded prizes by chair Pauline Ho Bynum:

Second Place: Jonghyun Park, tenor

Third Place: Korin Thomas-Smith, baritone

Encouragement: Eva Rae Martinez, soprano; and Nan Wang, baritone.
